The Role of a Professional Health Counselor (PHC)
The duty of a Professional Health Counselor (PHC) is to in practice, utilize all resources available to assist in bridging the gap in a patient’s current health status to where they desire. Best health standing is always the desired optimal goal of the PHC. Professional Health Counselors assist in creating a reasonable timeline of various health specific goals. PHC’s listen, coach, and mentor patients along the patients’ time-lined goals. It is common practice that these patients retain one PHC for an annualized term of five, ten years, and greater. The Provider-Patient relationship is of mutual interest that usually prompts long-term (Solutions) conversations within the first consultation.

Credentialing in the Health Industry Today
All of our Professional Health Counselors are, first, credentialed in their existing specialty including but not limited to Nutritionists, Registered Dieticians, Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Behavioral Therapists, Physical Therapists, Personal Fitness Trainers, and more. Upon approval, PHC’s complete a Master’s Certification Program in turn providing a variety of skill sets in a variety of specializations to ensure the best quality care!

Job Summary
• Provide KEY reporting functions in patient care
• Provide KEY patient enrollment services
• Expedite KEY provider support functions
• Oversee the quality and progress of patient care

General Accountabilities
• Prospect, engage, and enroll new patients
• Promote best practices with other healthcare professionals
• Explain and enforce safety precautions governing sports, recreational activities, and exercise equipment
• Observe and assist participants by informing them of technique or skill improvement measures
• Teach and demonstrate use of training resources and equipment
• Plan routines for classes and/or training sessions
• Instruct groups or individuals in exercise activities
• Clean and maintain all working resources and equipment
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree and appropriate training certification
• Minimum Experience: 1-2 years in a related field
• Must have no criminal record
• Valid State Driver's License
• Must be eligible to work in the United States

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Knowledge of proper nutrition
• Knowledge of appropriate safety precautions
• Knowledge of the appropriate use of point of care devices and fitness equipment
• Knowledge of the practical application uses of mobile devices and computers
• Ability to meet individual needs of patients/clients
• Patient/client/customer service
• Technical skills

Physical Demands
• Regularly required to stand
• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Regularly required to use hands
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms
• Frequently required to lift weights
• Hand coordination required
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus

Work Environment
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts
• The noise level in the work environment usually is loud
